A queer cruise to Antarctica will set sail next year, bringing the vibrant colors of Pride to the white continent for the first time. Olivia Palamountain reports that plans have been announced for the groundbreaking Antarctic Pride Cruise, scheduled for February 2025.
The B Corp-certified company has collaborated with Planetdwellers & Pride Tours to create this unique journey, celebrating the queer community in one of the world’s most remote locations.
This special cruise will take place aboard Greg Mortimer, a small expedition ship that accommodates just over 100 passengers. Cabins start at US$9,850 per person.
The ship offers spacious cabins and combines luxury with environmental sustainability, featuring amenities such as a gym, sauna, and jacuzzis. Bookings for the Antarctica Pride Cruise are expected to open soon.
Michael Smith, CEO, expressed excitement, saying, “We’re thrilled to offer this groundbreaking expedition that not only showcases the breathtaking beauty of Antarctica but also celebrates diversity and inclusion in such a unique setting.”
The Antarctica Pride Cruise aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for all guests, offering a range of experiences to explore the stunning Antarctic Peninsula alongside like-minded individuals.

Highlights of the ten-day expedition include:
-
Two to three thrilling excursions daily, such as polar plunges, zodiac cruises among icebergs, and hikes to remote viewpoints.
-
Adventurous shore activities like scuba diving among spectacular ice formations and snorkeling amidst diverse marine life.
-
Expert-led photography sessions and specially curated events celebrating Pride and the rich diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

As the first of its kind, this innovative expedition marks a significant milestone in combining polar exploration with Pride celebration, advancing inclusivity and diversity in expedition travel.
