Across the North Atlantic: Iceland, Greenland & Labrador

The North Atlantic expedition follows an exciting path which joins Iceland to Greenland and Labrador through a complete immersive journey. The journey begins in Reykjavík, before continuing to Greenland’s remote eastern coast, where you can explore southern fjords and discover hidden settlements. The expedition moves across the Davis Strait to reach the rough coastal areas which belong to Labrador and Newfoundland. The journey leads you to experience distant oceanic environments which glaciers and icebergs and endless sea views have formed.

Day by day

Day 1: Reykjavík to Keflavík Embarkation

The journey starts in Reykjavík because the city unites its natural beauty with its modern metropolitan environment. The journey to Keflavík ends when you board your expedition vessel which will take you across the North Atlantic. The ship departs from Iceland while passengers watch the coastline until the sea opens up during their first voyage.

Day 2: Into the Denmark Strait

The ship moved through Denmark Strait as it set its course toward Greenland. The open ocean environment creates a sense of vastness and isolation, while seabirds accompany the vessel overhead. The waters contain a wide range of marine creatures which allows visitors to spot whales together with various other aquatic species. The day sets the tone for the Arctic exploration ahead.

Day 3: Discovering Tasiilaq

Day 4 - 7: Skjoldungen Fjords Adventure

Day 8: Crossing the Davis Strait

Day 9: Open Ocean Experience

Day 10 - 13: Hebron and Labrador Coast

Sea Kayaking

Under full instruction from your sea kayaking guide, experience true tranquillity as you paddle through clinking ice floes and realise the enormity of the surrounding scenery. Look out for breaching whales, lounging seals and penguins zipping alongside your kayak. Some experience is required.

Ice Camping

Camp out on the ice and experience the silence which blankets the continent by night. This is your chance to completely connect with this ethereal ice world – wrap up warm and embrace the Antarctic elements.

Snowshoeing

Get a spring in your step when you slip on a pair of snowshoes in Antarctica. Enabling you to easily scale gentle slopes, this unique activity allows you to access hard to reach places and seek out the most impressive views.

Photography

Learn to capture wildlife and landscape shots in a small group photography program, including critiquing sessions and editing classes. Plus, Explorer Boat excursions with a dedicated photography expert on landings.

Explorer Boats

Achieve the best views and photographs from a forward facing Explorer Boats. They allow you to sit comfortably and securely while crackling through the ice-strewn waters. Look out for wildlife such as penguins, seals and whales as you cruise.

Yoga

It doesn’t get more serene than complimentary yoga classes to the tune of glacial scenery. Join the most unique exercise setting in the world after a day of exploration. Classes are regular but are dependent on weather conditions and swell.
