Best of Antarctica’s Whale Season is a 12-day round-trip expedition from Ushuaia, with 10 nights aboard the ship, scheduled to coincide with peak whale spotting season in Antarctica. Following departure from Ushuaia, the vessel crosses the Drake Passage to the South Shetland Islands, where volcanic terrain, mountains and glaciers provide habitat for wildlife including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins, Elephant seals and Fur seals. From there, the voyage reaches the Antarctic Peninsula for exploration among icebergs, bays, channels and wildlife-rich waters. An extra day is devoted to experiencing Antarctica during Humpback whale feeding season, when these whales gather around abundant krill, while Orcas and Minke whales are also described as common sightings. The Peninsula itinerary may additionally feature historic landing sites and potentially an active scientific base.

Sea Kayaking
Under full instruction from your sea kayaking guide, experience true tranquillity as you paddle through clinking ice floes and realise the enormity of the surrounding scenery. Look out for breaching whales, lounging seals and penguins zipping alongside your kayak. Some experience is required.

Camp out on the ice and experience the silence which blankets the continent by night. This is your chance to completely connect with this ethereal ice world – wrap up warm and embrace the Antarctic elements.
Snowshoeing
