In the Wake of the Vikings: Orkney, Shetland & the Faroe Islands
The 16-day voyage takes travelers along the Viking trade routes which connect Scotland's northern islands to the distant Faroe Islands and the majestic Norwegian fjords. The journey starts in Glasgow before it reaches its final destination at Tromsø which combines historical elements with natural beauty and cultural experiences. The travelers will experience coastal communities which developed through maritime activities while exploring historical settlements established during previous centuries and experiencing wild coastal regions.

Day by day

Day 1: Glasgow to the North Sea
The start of your journey takes place in Glasgow which brings together Scottish cultural traditions with its historical connection to ocean navigation. You need to travel to the coast before you can board your expedition vessel which waits for you at Leith. The ship moves away from the city until the urban environment disappears while the ocean stretches out before us and we anticipate what lies ahead. The expedition atmosphere arrives during the evening as participants get time to relax while watching the shifting landscape. The North Atlantic requires its first step which will establish the path for this exploration and discovery-based expedition.
Day 2 - 3: Orkney’s Ancient Landscapes

The Orkney Islands offer visitors a peaceful natural environment which holds extensive historical value. The land-based stories extend across multiple millennia because it shows how people first settled and how Vikings eventually took control of this region. The open areas allow people to create bonds between historical times and current days because they contain ancient ruins which stand next to modern landscapes that include both agricultural fields and wild coastal areas. The natural environment complements the historical sites, creating a rich and immersive experience that defines the spirit of Orkney.

Kirkwall stands as a historical center which visitors can explore through its multiple archaeological treasures. The area contains some of Europe's most vital prehistoric sites which show how humans developed their skills during ancient times. The ancient structures of stone circles and old houses enable us to understand what people did before our present society existed. The experience becomes better because of the nearby coastal cliffs which stretch across the horizon together with the open sky and the calmness of the local towns. The experience reaches its peak because I get to experience both cultural activities and natural environments during this day
